Visited Kawa for an early dinner. We ordered the pork gyoza( definitely trying it again), the japanese chicken fried rice( loved the chicken pieces ) and the chicken katsu egg don( sufficient for 2 people; the katsu along with the egg was flavourful and super filling) . The overall service of the staff and the ambience was nice. This place is worth trying if you visiting the yarraville village.
We went there for dinner and we really enjoyed the calm ambiance of the place. Their food are fairly priced considering the serving size and taste. I personally enjoyed their green tea served in a cast iron kettle and a small japanese ceramic teapot (Can’t believe it’s only 4.5 dollars!) Another personal favorite is the Sakura set which is combination of sushi and sashimis served in small wooden boat plate. :D Would definitely go back to this place to try other food from their menu. I would also love to see them offer ramen in the future to complete the whole japanese food experience.
I have given these ratings as I believe it can be improved. Seating arrangements are far too cramped and uncomfortable, you can't really enjoy the food. We felt squashed like 'sardines in a tin can' Food was ok but we were not offered any drinking water which is fairly standard in most restaurants and cafes. Staff are friendly and the service was efficient. Very hard to find parking particularly if you don't know the area
