Disappointing Experience Despite High Hopes With my go-to Japanese ramen spot temporarily closed, I decided to try something new and found this place through a Google search. The photos looked great, so I thought it was worth a shot—but I left wishing I hadn’t come at all. The food itself was okay—nothing to rave about—but what really ruined the experience was the front-of-house service. We arrived at 1:30 PM, well before their posted closing time of 3 PM. Yet, we were greeted with: “You only have 30 minutes left.” I asked if it was still okay to order ramen, and he replied, “Up to you, but you only have 30 minutes.” Then, as we sat down, he added, “It will take about 10 minutes to prepare the ramen, so you’ll only have less than 20 minutes to eat.” It was an unwelcoming and unnecessarily rude interaction, but I chose not to respond to avoid making a scene. I was dining with my toddler, so I politely asked for a small bowl. But before I could even finish my sentence, he turned his back on me, visibly annoyed or disappointed, and grabbed a bowl. He placed it on the table without saying a word. The dismissive attitude was frustrating and uncalled for. While waiting for our food, maybe around 1:40pm, another group of customers arrived, including a woman who was still eating when we left—yet he was just as curt and dismissive with them as he was with us. Clearly, this wasn’t a one-off. Sadly, the cold and unprofessional service overshadowed everything else. I won’t be returning.
Great food, but the service is honestly zero. The workers have the most sad and unhappy faces I have come across! Cheer up, you are serving customers who like the food but not your attitude. I have asked many times for warm water and fork, and they just simply ignored me! Food is recommended if you can put up with those faces of not happy to be here.
The food can be considered edible. Freshness was lacking for the tuna and such a weird shape, colour and texture. The flavours in the roll and ramen were not really there or hitting the spot. Salmon aburi was nice. Maybe its good by the local standard. Keep your expectations low if youre not a local. The service was nice and everyone was very polite. Nothing against this place but if its not 4.5 quality. Maybe 3.5 max.
