  • 2 years ago, I went to the Menya in Chinatown and remember it being quite mediocre, so when I tried the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen here shortly after, I was blown away. The broth was very refreshing and flavourful, the noodles were addictive and the meat was just insanely soft and melts in your mouth. I would have highly recommended this place, but. I had another ramen here after 2 years, this time the menya mega ramen. The chashu meat was still great and melted in my mouth, but the broth was so salty that the saltiness drowned out almost any other flavour. Given that it was supposed to be the tonkotsu broth, I also didn't taste much of the pork fat in the broth. As I was eating it I wondered if the chef taste tested the broth at all before serving. After the meat was gone, I didn't enjoy the ramen at all. Overall, I had two wildly different experiences, so I'm going to give it 3* for the inconsistency in quality.

  • The shop is located a bit hidden from the main street, arrived just a bit pass midday over weekend, nor overly busy. Water is self help, ordered ramen.it came out fairly quickly. The soup is rich and quantity is reasonable. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Friendly atmosphere, nice design and we had a down to earth and welcoming start when we walked in. Person behind the counter was very patient as we didn't know what we wanted to pick. Ramen is very good, loved the matsu chicken pieces. The firery dragon is good to but spicey! Free tap water and I enjoyed a lemon tea. Would definately go back again. Prices were reasonable to.
