One of my favourite japanese restaurants in canberra. Unfortunately had a bad experience today with take away. I ordered something different, Chirashi Don (sashimi bowl) and it was packed in the same bag as all the hot food (inc. boiling hot miso soup). My sashimi were partly cooked and it really spoiled the flavour!!! Please pack this separately in future as it shouldn’t be served warm like this (for both flavour and food safety)
One of my favorite restaurants in Canberra. Even I can't have raw fish, there are lots of options to eat for me. They are very flexible. I like ogawa roll, always change cooked tuna instead of fresh tuna for me. Consistent foods quality and reasonable prices to eat out. My friends like their sushi and sashimi too. They said they always feel fresh when they have sushi and sashimi. Love it. Want to visit again soon.
This is the second time I have eaten here and I tried a few new things as the place is great. The trick is to order on the app but only press send on things as you are finishing one course otherwise it all comes out at once (lesson learnt from last time) Started off with my favourite mini cooked tuna (not very adventurous I know) but I like the light sweet taste with a bit of wasabi on top. Prepared fresh and delivered quickly to get my hunger under control early. Next thing I tried was something new, the tempura snapper with amazu sauce (fyi a couple of pieces missing from the photo as I had already started before taking the photo) the batter was light and the sauce was a slightly sweet light vinegar that went so well with it. WiIl have again especially with AMAZING Amazu sauce! Had never tried eel before today and it was yum, almost a cross between light fish and scallop (so less of a strong flavour that scallop), heaps of egg omelet and rice so it was super filling. I found to have the ginger with the eel in a combined bite was a winner. WiIl have again Final new thing for the day was a Mango mochi ball which came with a squirt of whipped cream. I know I am late to the party in trying mochi balls but this was a sticky delight and not super sweet either just a great palate cleanser for the end of the meal. Staff are stay out of the way unless you need them, place is always clean and tidy - if you haven't been give it a go and try some great Japanese.
