Tsukaya Restaurant (STIRLING)

The food was really delicious. We enjoyed a lot. The presentation is appreciable. The staffs were friendly. Lively place but little bit crowded.

Restaurant was lovely and food delicious if not a tad expensive relative to portion size. A major gripe I have is when restaurants are militant about closing time on a Saturday night. We had an 8pm dinner reservation and at 9:55 got a 5 min ‘reminder’. At 10:01 we were told the restaurant was closed. At 10:10 we were told we had to leave. What happened to hospitality? This is the one night of the week some of us get to socialise and relax. A good restaurant waits until its last customer leaves, it doesn’t shove them out the door as soon as the bill is paid and the clock ticks over. Won’t be going back. Edit: I would like to acknowledge that the restaurant sets its own rules and that these were communicated upon booking. However, I think that 9:45 closing time is very early for a Saturday night. It was clear that multiple tables would have stayed longer had the restaurant not insisted we all leave. I checked the closing time for nearby restaurants and the benchmark seems to be 10:30-11pm on a Saturday. We brought a couple of bottles of expensive sake which we weren’t allowed to finish. We had to cork and leave, which just felt rude. I have never experienced this before at a restaurant and don’t often write reviews, but this stood out so I wanted to provide the feedback as it impacted our experience negatively and would be easy for the venue to fix.

Extremely enjoyable and delicious food. Staff are incredibly lovely. Beautiful experience for our date night 💖
