I just moved to this area and was looking for a sushi place for lunch. I rang to order and picked up because cbf with uber eats sometimes. Sushi was amazing salmon was super fresh and you got HEAPS of salmon. Most sushi places just give you a measly amount but this was actually some of the best sushi I have. I asked for extra ginger and it was delivered!! Miso soup and edamame were good nothing amazing but they are pretty standard sides anyway. Def check this out for a good sushi spot for around the area ! Sushi (salmon n avocado) 10 pcs, miso soup + game = $28!!! Amazing value Pls ignore the pick I did eat 2 pieces 🫣
i was looking at the menu outside with my boyfriend and the menu seemed really appealing. nice variety of things. so we decided to go inside and try. we were a bit hesitant though as the restaurant was empty and that's usually not a good sign. but we decided to try because we love japanese food and sometimes there are underrated gems and the reviews seemed good. firstly, atmosphere is pretty underwhelming. only three or so tables ? i can't remember and you can see into the kitchen and hear their conversation. music choice is fitting and decoration is pretty nice thought. and the place looks really clean. so i didn't really think much because as long as the place is clean i don't really care too much because some small businesses can't afford to renovate so much. we ordered chashu, beef tataki, salmon katsu set and udon. time it took for food to arrive was good. didn't take long and didn't take super short. one thing i will note however is that i did hear the sound of a microwave which is a bit of a concerning thing to me personally but isn't always bad i guess. the food looked very appetising but i was heavily let down. the chashu barely had meat and it mostly fat. the tataki is actually good but just needs a bit of salt. the udon is mid, but it was not my meal and i don't like noodles to begin with so not going to comment too much on it. the salmon katsu set however let me down truly. the rice is horrendous. tastes like absolute garbage. the rice feels like it was cooked with too much water then microwaved till there wasn't any water or something ? i don't even know how to describe because the rice was just so bad . i love rice. i love rice so much this made me truly sad. i was so excited to eat rice . also the fish was so overcooked it had no taste. the batter also was very strange choice. not authentic japanese. and this wasn't salmon katsu. the batter used for salmon katsu is different. the one used for this is usually used for fried chicken or more western foods. which i guess some people might like but it's not katsu salmon and is false advertising and just let me down. the side salad it came with was depressing, no dressing just a bunch of random lettuce and vegetables. the miso soup tastes very plain, i can't tell if it's made with miso paste or the powder but i'm leaning towards the powder because there wasn't much taste to it. tasted like i was drinking water with a bit of salt. truthfully i had high hopes for this place and i was let down and that's the saddest part. the price is fine but if i were to ever come back i would need to see them change their recipe. and hopefully the vibe improves a bit.
Overall not bad. Lacking in a little bit in the ambiance department but the food is good. We loved their tender Beef Tataki, and their crispy prawn tempura. As Paul tell tasty!! But unfortunately they let me down in the sushi department, the rice tasted old. And personal preference but the gyozas weren’t as good as I was expecting.
