Onsen Japanese (MELB NORTH WEST)

Layout of the shop was somewhat reminiscent of the food stalls in Japan, which is nice. Easy ordering via scanning the QR code, and food didn’t take long to prepare. Some more flavour needed for the oyakodon. It was a little bit bland but otherwise everything else tasted good, plus portion sizes were decent.

We randomly decided to try this restaurant for dinner, and I found it wasn’t very busy, which was a bit surprising. The menu didn’t have many options to choose from, and we ended up ordering the ramen, beef don, and karaage chicken don. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with the food. The portions were smaller than expected, and the dishes were far too salty for my taste. It was disappointing, and I left feeling like the meal didn’t quite hit the mark. Given my experience, I won’t be returning. There are definitely better options out there for this kind of cuisine.

my boyfriend and i came twice in the past week during our melbourne trip. food was tasty and a reasonable price in my opinion contrary to other reviews. service was extremely fast (~5 minutes) both times we came in and the girl working was extremely kind :)
