Beautiful and refreshing tasting Japanese food. We really liked the taste of the soup in our Tempura Udon dish. It is different to the udon broth that we have in Sydney. The contents that I had in the Yakuniku Dumpling BENTO Box was very delicious, including the meat and the contents of the dumpling. It tasted very fresh. It was difficult to navigate our way to the restaurant because we initially thought that it was closed but then when we came closer we realised that it was open. It would be helpful if there was a sign on the front of the door to avoid the confusion in future.
Went here because I saw a video saying “This is the best sushi and bento in Launceston”, but it turns out different; the sushi filling is kinda hard to chew, it is also cold and not fresh. They serve the sushi with this kind of unusual mayo and I-dont-know-the-name chili sauce. We also ordered Bento and the sauce is strongly sour and salty in a bit bad way. The chicken katsu is not really fresh. All cold.
Wasn't the usual japanese I was expecting. Food was value for money, relatively good quality. Tempura was better than the katsu. Salad wasn't the usual sesame dressing or soy raddish, was just a plain mayo and cabbage. Just a bit different in taste and expectation so adjust accordingly. Otherwise fine for the location budget and a meal I suppose. Wear older clothes, greasy smell inside.
