Today, we passed by this new ramen shop and discovered it just opened. When we went inside, there were no other customers, only the two of us. The restaurant was very clean, and the restroom was also spotless. We ordered two bowls of ramen—one was mushroom ramen, and the other was the first option on the menu, though I forgot its name. The mushroom ramen broth was a bit salty, but the deep-fried items were delicious. The broth of the other ramen was quite tasty. Overall, the noodles were really good, and I liked them a lot. If you're craving authentic Japanese ramen, you should definitely try this place. The deep-fried tofu was also perfectly crisp and square-shaped, but I wish there was a little more sauce. If I could offer a suggestion, it would be to reduce the saltiness of the mushroom ramen broth. Also, you could consider putting a sign outside the store because we only noticed it after seeing another restaurant's voting sign. Wishing you much success in your business!👍🏻
Solid ramen spot with friendly and attentive staff, and a nice ambience. The shoyu ramen was light and comforting, whereas the miso ramen was rich and savoury. The closest you'll find to authentic Japanese ramen here. Chicken katsu curry was also yum, especially the katsu. We came with no expectations after walking around in circles not knowing what to eat, but we’re glad we ended up here :)
A newly opened Japanese ramen spot in Adelaide Chinatown, the place is small but clean and comfortable. Jigoku Ramen: Ordered the regular spice level. The noodles were chewy, the meatballs were a bit dry, and the beef could be more tender. The broth had a mild numbing spiciness—if you love spicy food, you can try their extreme spice level. Tantanmen: Despite the 🌶️ symbol on the menu, it wasn’t spicy at all. The broth was quite light, and the toppings were minimal (just minced meat, a few greens, and scallions). Ajitama (soft-boiled egg) is extra unless you order a set meal. Karaage Chicken: Crispy outside, tender inside, and a generous portion. The special sauce with a touch of spicy mayo was a nice touch. They offer Golden Set ($32) and Silver Set ($25), which include ramen, sides, and drinks. We ordered both, and the price was reasonable at $25-35 per person. Bonus: free extra noodles, but you need to finish your first serving first. Overall, decent food, good value, but not particularly outstanding. Worth a try if you’re in the area!
