Noodle soups are a weakness of mine - whether it be Pho, Laksa or Ramen. We have generally mediocre outlets in SW Queensland, a trip to Brisbane is usually required for anything half decent. I believe Hakataya Ramen may be a chain store, or franchised - but this was a solid ramen. After a little deliberation, I chose the Aka Kara Ramen - I did choose to add additional garlic, you can never have too much garlic. The broth stood out - certainly not Japanese fine dining but decent for food court fare. Noodles were perfectly cooked, courtesy of an attentive lady. Plenty of heat as well. Fast and polite service.
I often dine here mostly during my dayoff, and consistency is their masterpiece. excellent customer service and verygood blend of flavors, i love the shio ramen pair with gyoza and egg, perfect! how i wish they have here in the north.
Noticed recently that the Myer Centre branch has closed and found out today they've relocated to Queens Plaza. Rating is based on their opening special of free ramen - what's not to love about that? Haven't had Hakataya for a while and this went down nicely. Service was friendly and although there was already a backlog when I arrived, I received my takeaway order in 15 minutes which was pretty spot on to the estimate the staff member gave when I asked about wait time. They also offered me the option of having the soup packed separately which I appreciated. Dine in customers also get their food in single use bowls, albeit minus the lids and on a cardboard tray. I guess that cuts the need to wash crockery. Hope they last longer than the previous ramen business in this shop space!
