Donto Sapporo Japanese Restaurant (CENTRAL QLD)

We walked in on a Saturday night for dinner without a reservation. The restaurant was full inside, hence they sat us outside. Food was exquisite. Sushi was very fresh, and delicately prepared. Cooked dishes are really tasty. We would say these are one of the best Japanese shops in the Gold Coast we have experienced. Would come back.

I’m extremely angry and disappointed. The food was decent, but the service was absolutely unacceptable. If I could give zero stars for the service, I would. As a non-white customer, I was treated with clear disrespect by one of the young male waiters, whose behavior was blatantly discriminatory. It was a shocking and deeply upsetting experience. If you’re not white, be warned—you may face the same kind of racist treatment I did. I strongly urge others to think twice before supporting a place where such behavior is tolerated.

Food in here is so fresh, high-quality. We had shabu shabu and sashimi. The food is no yum and no additives. Service is quick. I also love the atmosphere, feel like living in japanese.
