We were staying at Hobart City Apartment (another great place to stay) and Yamashita restaurant is conveniently located at Ground floor next to reception area. Nice food and definitely a Must for visitors to Hobart. The best atmosphere and dining experience in my opinion. We think the dish, Chicken Thigh is our favourite. We had our meals here twice!👍
Best Japanese Restaurant I've had in a while. The food, service, atmosphere, absolutely fantastic!, we ordered salmon sashimi. soft shell crab and wagyu beef don. the food is so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend, perfect place to stop in for some lunch.
27/2/25 I ordered the beef set and kingfish, Hokkaido scallops sashimi. The beef is crusty outside, soft and tender inside, the kingfish just arrived from the market. The sashimi is fresh with a natural sweetness fresh off the ocean. I do not want the taste to stop… I will definitely go back again. 28/2/25 I was planning to go to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Garden today but somehow my feet just walked me to Yamashita… after the amazing fresh seafood yesterday, I can’t help but go all out with sea urchin, kingfish, salmon and Hokkaido scallops… never disappoint. I would love to go back there again before I leave but I have all the tours lined up, goodbye fresh seafood and succulent beef, I will miss you.
