I recently dined at Izakaya Ichi in Southport, and it was an incredible experience! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. The menu is extensive and offers an authentic taste of Japan, with everything from fresh sushi and sashimi to delicious yakitori and bento boxes. The quality of the food really stood out everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine on the Gold Coast, Izakaya Ichi is an absolute must-visit. First visit - food was good, service was friendly, place is a bit ‘tired’ and would welcome a spruce up. Salmon 🍣 nigiri was a standout, wagyu beef tatake was slightly tough but had a delicious sauce with fresh, hot 🫚 and pork 🥟 were very nice. Easy ordering from the table. As a small place it can get busy so recommend bookings for weekends. Park at Aus Fair - free for 3 hours
Food is great, ordering system is efficient and on the quicker side. Have been a few times and enjoy trying the various dishes :)) Edit: Times can vary depending on the day and staffing, sometimes it takes longer than usual but the upside is they usually bring out all the food at once.
