Okami Japanese Restaurant (CANBERRA)

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Despite how busy it was, Dianne, Kyle, and the talented chef behind the counter delivered outstanding service. They were attentive, efficient, and made sure everything was perfect. The food was exceptional, prepared with great care and skill. It’s clear that this team takes pride in what they do, and their dedication truly enhanced the dining experience. Highly recommend this place—I’ll definitely be back!

This is for their lunch buffet. Had gone for the dinner buffet a while ago back in Mawson. Thought we'd give the lunch buffet option a try, thinking we'd get similar options. Got told only to pick directly from the buffet table and not order anything else without extra charges. No sashimi, no fish sushi and available sushi were all heavier on rice. Sauces were pretty basic. Dishes were all pretty average and for the price we're paying ($23+/person), we could have gotten much better sushi options elsewhere. Considering the limited options (around 25 items including soups, mains, sushi, sides and dessert) on offer, it was even more disappointing that they couldn't stock them up proper. This will be my first and last time here.

Very budget friendly. Great staff, very efficient, food came quick. All you can eat was well priced and probably well worth it (we ordered a la carte). The food tasted average, if not bland. Beef carpaccio was OK. Edamame could have been sprinkled with something more special, as such was just dull. All veggies that came with Beef Teppanyaki were tasteless, beef itself - flavourless. Takoyaki - did not feel fresh. All in all, we were satisfied with the cost when it came to paying the bill, other than that, a bit tough to be excited about anything else.
